Welcome to the Lansdown Club - we have wonderful facilities providing the opportunity to play Tennis, Squash, Racketball and Croquet in lovely surroundings
Croquet is a game for all ages, and whether you are an experienced player or a beginner you will be made welcome – no equipment is required other than players must wear flat shoes. Free tuition is available, by arrangement, from the Croquet Association qualified Coach
The Croquet lawn is maintained by a professional groundsman and is open all year round except for a few weeks in the winter when it is taken out of service for maintenance. The lawn should not be played on when there is frost or excessive water on the ground.
**Autumn 2022 Lawn Closure**

**The lawn will be closed for annual maintenance from FRIDAY 14/10/22 – no play is permitted from that date until re-opening announced around the end of November**
There are currently around 40 Croquet members who play the Golf Croquet version of the game. The players are very sociable and play a number of friendly matches against other, local clubs throughout the summer months.
Club sessions are held as follows:
*11am start during the winter
All members must attend a short Induction course (15 minutes) given by a member of the Croquet Committee before they venture out onto the lawn unsupervised. This includes Rackets members (who can partake in Croquet as part of their membership) and is intended to safeguard equipment and players.
Inducted members will be added to the ‘Croquet Members List’ – once on this list, members may set up the lawn for play unsupervised and can bring guest members, who MUST sign the visitors book and pay £3 per visit (maximum 5 visits per year per guest).
